KARACHI: Despite the termination order by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif, Sindh Secretary Home and Local Government Qazi Abdul Kabeer continued his work on Friday.Qazi Kabeer attended the Home Secretary’s office and presided over a number of meetings.He was dismissed by the prime minister of Pakistan due to his alleged involvement in corruption matters of Rs1.27 billion of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).Sources told the News that the Sindh government decided to protect its most trustworthy of many political high-ups of the Pakistan People’s Party leaders Qazi Kabeer and to took the matter with the Prime Minster of Pakistan, Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Talking to The News, Qazi Kabeer said that he had received the show cause notice from the federal government and replied that notice but without fulfilling the formalities and observing proper proceedings, this decisions has been taken, and, now, he has received the information of his dismissal through media. Qazi Kabeer further said that he has not received any written order regarding his termination, and he has also consulted the Sindh chief secretary and he is also unaware of the said decision.
Qazi Kabeer was the former secretary of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and was implicated by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) under present government, along with former PM Yusuf Raza Gilani and ex-Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim, in 19 corruption cases of Rs1.27 billion.
Sources of the Sindh government told ‘The News’ that Sindh government directed Qazi Kabeer to continue his job as secretary Home and Local Government and assured him to take his matter with the prime minister.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, during the Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif’s visit on Thursday, raised the issue of Qazi Kabeer and agitated upon the matter, sources added.
On the other hand, the Sindh chief secretary and services and general administration department did not receive any orders from the federal government regarding the termination of Qazi Kabeer.
