Full bench to hear pleas against BZU Lahore campus
LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Monday constituted a full bench to hear students of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Lahore (BZU) campus, seeking recognition of their degrees.
The full bench comprising Justice Amin-ud-din Khan, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan will proceedings on students’ petitions from Tuesday (today).
It will hear the petitions of students against the university administration after the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) had declared it illegal and the campus was closed. They challenged their non-enrollment at a disputed sub-campus of BZU in Lahore. The petitioners claim due to the closure of the Lahore campus, their future was at stake and no one was inclined to redress their grievances.
