Eight years ago, the announcement that Jacobabad will have its own IT university delighted a large number of students who were looking forward to pursue their careers in information technology. The decision was made by the PPP-led government who remained in power till 2013. However, the educational institution never saw the light of the day.
A majority of people in Jacobabad belong to lower middle class and cannot afford to send their children to other cities for higher studies. The provision of quality education is the responsibility of the government. The authorities are requested to establish a state-of-the-art university in the city at the earliest.
