APNS announces journalistic, creative awards
KARACHI: The APNS is holding the 23rd APNS Awards ceremony on January 15, 2018 wherein the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would be the chief guest and he would distribute the awards among the winners in the categories of journalist, creative and advertising agencies.
The panel of judges for the advertising awards comprised Mr. Ejaz Wasay, Ms. Durriya Kazi, Mr. Talib S. Karim and Mr Syed Sultan Hassan (Late).
These advertising agencies were selected for awards: M/s. Midas (Pvt.) Ltd. has won five awards including Best Business Performance Award, Special Business Performance Award (Regional Dailies), Special Business Performance Award (Metro B Dailies), Best Performance Award for Private Sector Client (Bahria Town) and Best Performance Award for Public Sector Client (Benazir Income Support Program). M/s. Orient Advertising (Pvt.) Ltd. won the Special Business Performance Award. (Periodicals).
The awards for the creative categories are: Best Newspaper Ad: M/s. Manhattan International. (Pvt.) Ltd ad of (Standard Chartered Bank), Best Campaign: M/s. Adcom (Pvt.) Ltd. ad of (Al Karam), Best Public Service Campaign: M/s. IAL Communications (Pvt.) Ltd ad of (Depilex Smile again Foundation)
The APNS has also announced the winners of the 22nd APNS Journalist Awards which will be distributed at the APNS Awards ceremony. The panel of judges consisted of prominent writers and intellectuals namely, Ms. Ameena Saiyid, Prof. Dr. Nisar Zuberi, Mr. Babar Ayaz, Dr. Rafia Taj, Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat, Dr. Mugheesuddin Sheikh, Mr. Owais Aslam Ali, Prof. Tauseef Ahmed Khan, Mr. Vali Ram Vallabh, Dr. Fahmida Hussain, Mr. Yaqoob Mughal, Ms. Seemeen Naghmana, Abid Ali Syed, and Prof. Shahida Kazi.
The panel selected the following for the awards :

• Best Investigative Report (Environmental/Conservation/Gender) [jointly] Ms. Razia Fareed, Daily Jang and Ms. Zehra Nabi, monthly Newsline.
• Best Column Award (English), Syed Saadat Ali, Daily Dawn.
• Best Column Award (Urdu), Yasir Pirzada, Daily Jang.
• Best Column Award (Provincial Language), Asad Chandio, Daily Awami Awaz.
• Best Feature Award (English), Ms. Noorulhuda, monthly Newsline.
• Best Feature Award (Urdu), Muhammad Akram Khan, Daily Jang.
• Best Feature Award (Provincial Language), Murli Dhar, Daily Awami Awaz.
• Best Cover Story (Periodicals), Imitaz Gul, Ms. Noorulhuda, monthly Newsline.
