Panel to determine police officers’ competence

The Sindh police chief has formed a departmental committee to evaluate police officers’ performance and repute.
The four-member body comprises Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Aftab Ahmed Pathan as chairman with DIG Sultan Ali Khwaja, DIG Khadim Hussain Rind, and AIG Operations Amir Farooqi as members.
The committee would examine the service record, working, reputation and stature of the station house officers, section officers, and traffic sergeants with their fitness as well for consideration to respective postings.
IGP Ghulam Hyder Jamali has directed the committee to submit its recommendations within 30 days so that the report could be presented before the Supreme Court.
