Assets beyond means: NAB head orders inquiry against Balochistan minister, baboos
ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has directed Balochistan NAB DG to conduct complaint verification against provincial Minister Obaid Jan Babat for making assets beyond sources of income.
The NAB chairman received the complaint that Obaid Jan Babat having property in Dubai, owning over Rs130 million property in Karachi, two bungalows in Multan, Rs75 million petrol pump in DG Khan and a bungalow in Quetta.
Justice Javed has also directed Karachi DG to conduct complaint verification against Sindh former IG Ghulam Haider Jamali, Sohail Jamali and others for their illegally occupying 2,500 acres of land of Forest Department and cultivating the agriculture land in collaboration with officials of Revenue Department in Sajawal.
Through another directive, the NAB chairman has also been ordered complaint verification against brother-in-law of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Health Secretary Dr Fazalullah Pechcho for misuse of authority and postings/transfers of favourites during his posting in Education Department, Sindh. The complaint verification will also cover Dr Fazalullah Pechcho’s awarding of contracts of purchasing inferior quality medicines.
