KARACHI: Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar has said that bringing an end to the evil of horse-trading is a combined responsibility. The government has already taken the initial step in this regard. The government is willing to do everything to stop horse-trading and wants to make constitutional amendment before the Senate polls.
The finance minister was talking to Shahzeb Khanzada, the host of Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’ on Wednesday.Dar said the Pakistan People’s Party is also willing that horse-trading should not be there. He opined that the evil could only be stopped through an amendment in the Constitution.
He said the government wants to hold the Senate election with open ballot.Dar said he would submit reply to the political Jirga regarding Judicial Commission by Friday. He said the matter would be resolved if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), keeping its allegations in view, should allow inclusion of the word ‘conspiracy’.
He said the government is sincerely working for the Judicial Commission and reminded the PTI that the job of electoral forms is suspended in Parliament. He said the PTI should at least attend the electoral reforms committee so that the time of the nation was not wasted.
