Ghazanfar Bilour elected FPCCI chief

PESHAWAR: Candidate of the United Business Group (UBG), Ghazanfar Bilour, has won election for the position of president of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce &

Industry (FPCCI) with a margin of 64 votes by defeating Haji Ghulam Ali.According to details, UBG carried out clean sweep in FPCCI 2018 election which was held in Karachi on Friday.

The winning candidate, Ghazanfar Bilour, secured 186 votes out of total 326 polled. The runner-up candidate Haji Ghulam Ali bagged 122 votes.

Up to 15 out of total 341 members abstained from casting votes in the election. It was the fourth consecutive victory of UBG for winning slot of FPCCI stewardship. Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir of the UBG won the slot of FPCCI Vice-President by bagging 190 votes.

Atif Ikram defeated Sartaj Khan and Saeeda Bano of UBG secured seat of male and female Vice-Presidents of FPCCI for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, respectively by 9-4 and 11-10.   Chaudhry Javed Iqbal won vice-president seat for federal area.

The UBG candidates Tariq Haleem, Waheed Ahmad, Kareem Aziz Malik and Zahid Saeed won 4 seats of Association of Trade and Industry. UBG candidates also won seat of Chambers of Small Traders and Small Industry, Gilgit.

SM Munir, Patron-in-Chief of UBG, Iftikhar Ali Malik, UBG chairman, Zubair Tufail, FPCCI President and Amit Atta Bajwa, FPCCI Vice-President and Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour thanked and greeted business community of all country including all UBG members who worked day and night for paving the way for the victory.

They pledged to make efforts for promotion of economic activities and take measures for the protection of interest of business community for ultimate welfare and prosperity of the people of Pakistan. 

Ghazanfar Bilour is the son of seasoned parliamentarian and eminent industrialist Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour and a former president of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
