MARDAN: Chairman of Board of Directors (BoD) of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), Nawabzada Arsala Khan Hoti Saturday said that a proposal was under consideration to divide the power distribution company into three regions to facilitate people of the province.
Talking to the newly-elected office-bearers of Mardan Press Club, Arsala Khan who is also district general secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, said a proposal was on the table to divide Pesco into Peshawar, Mardan and Hazara regions. “It will facilitate the masses and the Pesco staff would be able to better manage the routine work of the company,” the BoD chief said. He added that Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan provinces had several distribution power companies, while in KP only Pesco was working in the entire province.
The BoD chief said line losses and power pilferage would automatically be controlled after the division of Pesco in KP besides facilitating the consumers. He said despite sit-ins and political instability, the PML-N government had put the economy on the right track.
Arsala Khan congratulated the office-bearers of the press club and hoped that they would work for the welfare of the people and the community.
