Water conservation
Islamabad has seen less rainfall for the past few months because of which water reservoirs are drying up. This is an alarming issue as domestic needs of the residents of the twin cities are met through these water sources. This serious issue must be dealt with in a responsible manner. Scientists have predicted longer and more severe droughts due to climate change. With more countries struggling to cope with drought-like conditions, conserving water has become more important than ever.
It is also the responsibility of citizens to work for the conservation of water. Some basic steps can help households conserve water. For example, all taps must be turned off after use and faulty pipelines should be fixed immediately. Water is a precious resource and even small steps taken can lead to big changes including saving up of hundreds of gallons of water for the years to come.
