LAHORE: Ali Musa Gilani, son of former premier Yusuf Raza Gilani, who announced filing a case against PTI Chairman Imran Khan after being allegedly manhandled by his supporters on Sunday night has withdrawn his decision.

“The PTI leadership has contacted us and we have cleared the misunderstanding, the matter has been resolved amicably and I will not pursue the application filed to the police,” said Gilani, also a former MNA from Multan in a statement, on Monday. Qasim Gilani, his brother while talking to The News, also stated that neither party would pursue case against each other as the matter has been resolved.

The situation took an ugly turn on Sunday when Gilani, ignited over his manhandling by the PTI supporters near Okara announced to lodge a case against Imran over the incident. “I will not spare Imran” these were the remarks of Gilani while talking to media after he was accused of assaulting the members of Imran Khan’s convoy when the PTI chairman was returning home after addressing a public meeting in Okara.

Two PTI leaders including Fawad Chaudhry and Imran Khan’s close aide Aun Chaudhry remained in contact with junior Gilani after the episode and finally convinced him not to pursue the case against Imran Khan. They also assured that none of the PTI leaders would lodge any case against Ali Musa Gilani or his guards.
