ISLAMABAD: Kamran Riaz (64 not out) smashed a half century as Islamabad moved into the quarter-finals of the National Under-16 Cricket Tournament showing hapless Rawalpindi the door in a match played here Friday at the Diamond Ground.
Besides Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar and Faisalabad also made it to the last eight stage from Pool A.On Friday, Rawalpindi were restricted to 145-9 while batting first with Sajjad (25 not out) being the top-scorer.
For Islamabad, Atif Khan (3-33) and Moeez Khan (2-19) bowled well.Kamran then smashed seven fours and two sixes during his 65-ball unbeaten knock to take Islamabad home and into the quarter-finals.
