MANSEHRA: A woman, her son and daughter were electrocuted and four others sustained critical wounds after an electric current spread to an entire village following heavy transmission which fell on the ground in Oghi on Friday.

The people of Kango village started rushing to safer places after a heavy transmission line fell on the ground and caused electric current in houses of the area. “A woman and her two children, who were crossing the muddy water after leaving their house fearing an electric shock were electrocuted,” Wajid Khan, the SHO of Oghi, told reporters.

He said that he along with a police party rushed to scene to help people. “I also met the bereaved family but they didn’t want to lodge an FIR against anybody,” said Khan.

Basmina Bibi, her son Shahidullah, 4, and daughter Samina, 12, were laid to rest following the funeral prayer, which was attended by a large number of people. The other four villagers, who also received the electric shock, were hospitalised.
