Islamabad : Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) and Embassy of the Republic of Korea join hands to screen feature film ‘The Front Line’ at PNCA today (December 14), at 6 p.m.

Directed by Jang Hoon, known for his earlier films ‘Secret Reunion’ and ‘Rough Cut’, ‘The Front Line’ came in 2011 and it was Korea's official nomination for Academy Award (Oscar) in 2012. The film eventually won several distinguished awards both home and abroad for Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Cinematography and Art Direction.

‘The Front Line’ takes us back to 1953 with ceasefire of Korean War about to take place. Two soldiers are captured and brought to a captain in what would be North Korea. He sets them free. This is an uneasy ceasefire and the fighting goes on Eastern frontline of the Aerok Hills. New border between the North and South is the final goal.

‘The Front Line’ portrays war as it is: cruel and ruthless. With a powerful script and exceptionally polished technical effects (camera, sound, editing, production effects), it is an experience to watch this film and admire Korean film at its best.
