Present system has failed to deliver: Qadri
LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said the rule of aristocracy has left all state institutions destroyed, the Constitution trivial, law powerless and the masses without resources. Nobody could get rights without coming to the streets and the masses had left with no option but to block roads for seeking justice, the PAT chief said while addressing a meeting of office-bearers and legal advisers on Tuesday. He said the present system had completely failed to deliver and become a tool in the hands of the aristocrats to make money and increase power since they had systematically destroyed all institutions. He said without bringing about revolution, the state could not be put back on track of rule of law and constitution. He warned that without bringing revolutionary changes in the system of elections and accountability, the masses would continue to suffer from poverty, hunger, unemployment and lawlessness, while the constitution and state institutions would remain meaningless.
