Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology and Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain on Tuesday directed the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology to come up with a complete roadmap and a strategic plan to accelerate science and technological development in the country.
He issued the directives while chairing a meeting with the PCST officials at the Ministry of Science and Technology here. The meeting was held to review preparations for the next meeting of the National Commission for Science and Technology.
The minister said focus on quality research and innovation was imperative to spur knowledge-based economy in the country. "The establishment of technology parks, incubation centres and promotion of quality scientific research are our key priority areas," he said. The minister said the ministry was pursuing effective policy measures for promoting research and innovation in the country.
