NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would not enter into any alliance for the 2018 general election.

Speaking at public meeting in Badrashi here, he said that PTI had been demanding election ahead of its scheduled time as the federal government could not govern the country.

The chief minister believed that the country economy and law and order situation were on the decline, adding that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz should wind up the government in the national interest. “The PML-N government should go for early election in the wake of erosion of its writ,” Pervez Khattak said.

On the occasion, scores of activists of the Awami National Party, PML-N and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) announced joining PTI.

Welcoming the new entrants, Pervez Khattak said the people left the ruling party in its last year in government, but the popularity of the PTI was on the rise.

He said his government had taken a historic initiative to start monthly stipend for 30,000 Pashimams (prayer leaders) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each Peshimam would get Rs10,000 every month, he added.
