LAHORE: Campus United and Real Lahore reached the semifinals of the ongoing First All-Pakistan Football Challenge Cup at the Model Town Football Ground here on Monday. However, the hosts Fame Football Club (Orange) failed to qualify because of an own goal by their defender. In the first quarterfinal, Campus United luckily beat Fame Football Club (Orange) 2-1 in a hotly contested match. The defender of Fame Football Club (Orange) Atif committed a blunder in the 27th minute by scoring own goal. Striker Ali Tayyab scored the second goal in the 58th minute for Campus United. Captain of Fame Football Club (Orange) Zia Dogar made the lone goal for his team in the 74th minute of the match. In the second quarterfinal, Baba Cargo Football Club defeated Black Pool Football Club by 1-0. The lone goal was scored by Javed Gill on a penalty kick in the 34th minute of the match. In the third quarterfinal, Real Lahore registered a convincing win against Murad Football Club 3-0. Hussain scored two goals in the 25th and 70th minute respectively. The third goal was scored by Saad Butt in the 85th minute.
