Three bogies of freight train derail

LAHORE: Three bogies of a freight train derailed Monday at Shahdara railway station while being shifted from one track to another, according to the railway sources.

The authorities were trying to remove the derailed bogies from the track in order to clear the route for other trains, however, due to the incident Lahore-bound Shalimar Express was delayed. After sometime, the route was restored and the track cleared. Pakistan Railways Division DS Sufian Dogar reached the spot and monitored the work on the train track.

Upgraded design: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that upgradation or restoration of an institution is a progress of a country. Talking in a department meeting here Monday, the federal minister said upgradation/restoration of institution is a progress of the country. Other officials were also present on the occasion. Upgraded design of Railway Line (LM-1) from Karachi to Peshawar under CPEC project was presented to the federal minister.
