‘Free, fair elections only way forward for Pakistan’
The world is witnessing Pakistan emerge as an important player in our region through China’s mega investment plans which will bring us closer to Central Asian states and boost our strategic role.
This was stated by Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘United Marine Agency (UMA) - 16th CEO Summit Asia and Leadership Award Ceremony 2017’ and the launch of a book, ‘100 Performing CEOs, Leaders and Companies of Pakistan 2017’, on Monday.
He said Pakistan had changed and was progressing as a country that bore great potential for foreign and local investors. “Pakistan's economy was facing an uncertain situation in 2013. Our government worked day and night over the first three years to revive the economy and our hard work has put country on the path of prosperity. The Pakistan Stock Exchange is now the best stock exchange of the region and its rise is validation of the government’s successful economic policies,” said Zubair
Speaking about other challenges, the governor asserted that free and fair elections were the only way forward for Pakistan. The UMA-16th CEO Summit was held to pay tribute to all CEOs, entrepreneurs, business leaders, policy makers and economic managers for their efforts and contributions towards improving Pakistan’s economic standing.
Governor Zubair later gave away ‘Leadership Awards’ to the top-performing CEOs of the country and also graced the launch ceremony of the book, ‘100 Performing CEOs and Companies of Pakistan’.
