Secure schools

The government has a responsibility to provide security at schools throughout the country after the shocking tragedy at Peshawar’s Army Public School. It has become all the more necessary after reports that schools are continuously receiving threats from terrorist groups.
Most schools in the private sector have tightened security, but the security at government-run schools is inadequate. It is observed that school gates are mostly manned by unarmed people who can be easily overpowered by terrorists. Due to the bad law and order situation, there is a need to give state-run schools necessary security cover on an urgent basis.
