Patients, attendants protest against BVH admin

BAHAWALPUR: Hundreds of Bahawal Victoria Hospital outdoor patients and their attendants on Saturday protested against unavailability of medicines at the hospital and illegal charging of x-ray fee.
They chanted slogans against the BVH administration, the BVH BoGs CEO, QMC Principal Dr Haroon Khursheed and the hospital’s MS Dr Irshad Ahmad. They also chanted slogans against the Punjab Health Department officers responsible for this situation. The patients while talking to The News said that they had come to the hospital for their treatment as they were poor and could not afford expensive treatment. They said that the hospital had now become anti-poor hospital as only rich people were being treated here. They demanded the Punjab CM take notice of the issue.
3 INJURED IN JUBILANT FIRING: Three people were injured during aerial firing in a wedding ceremony at Basti Raja Wali on Saturday.
The wedding was going on when some wedding guests started jubilant firing. In the meantime, bullets hit Dildar, Sajid and Ashraf and injured them. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar.
MAN DROWNS: A man drowned in River Sutlej on Saturday.
Khalid Ali was catching fish near Chak Fatwara, Bahawalnagar, when suddenly he slipped and drowned. Later, Rescue 1122 staffers took out his body and handed over to his heirs.
