MMA revival seems a far cry

ISLAMABAD: The much trumpeted revival of Muttahida Majlise Amal is still a far cry as many controversies have erupted and questions are still being asked by various party heads about the final shape of the religious alliance.

Already, Maulana Samiul Haq has struck a deal with PTI blaming the past experience of the MMA as counter-productive. The fast emergence of Tehrik Labaik Ya Rasoolullah and Jamaat Dawah in the electoral field has changed the dynamics of entire political landscape as every party is searching new allies for the upcoming elections.

PML-N which apparently is unprepared for any seat adjustment or electoral alliance with any party may start mass contacts after the election schedule announcement.

PTI chairman Imran Khan, the sources have revealed, has assigned his provincial party leadership task to initiate seat adjustment to electoral alliance dialogue with Jamaat Islami in order to strength his political position further in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The changing of sides by Maulana Samiul Haq’s JUI has also caused fissures in JI whose lower cadre workers were already annoyed over the leadership’s decision without knowing the common view about forging of alliance by accepting the dominance of JUI-F. The sources claimed that possibilities are there that the PTI succeeds to win back support of JI for seat adjustment in KP.
