RAWALPINDI: Sameer Saqib (68) took Faisalabad to seven-wicket win over Rawalpindi in the National Under-16 One-day Tournament match here at the Pindi Stadium Tuesday.
Put into bat first Rawalpindi were bowled out for just 140 in 38th over. Thanks to Sameer’s innings, Faisalabad reached home in 30th over.Sameer struck eight boundaries in his 90-ball knock and together with Mohammad Qasim (38 not out) raised 86 for the third wicket.
Earlier, Salman (2-27), Akram Nawab (2-17) and Mohammad Owais (2-7) ran through Pindi batting with Huzaifa Sajjid (50) turning out to be the notable run-getter.
Scores in brief: Rawalpindi 140 all out in 37.4 overs (Huzaifa Sajjid 50; Salman 2-27, Akram Nawab 2-17, Mohammad Owais (2-7). Faisalabad 142-3 in 29.1 overs (Sameer Saqib 68, Mohammad Qasim 38 not out; Usama Afridi 1-32).
