WANA: The tribal elders on Friday vowed to make joint efforts against cheating in examinations in South Waziristan Agency.
The Ahmadzai Wazir tribal elders, including Malik Murad Khan, Malik Ameer Muhammad Khan, Maulana Abdul Ali and several others, held a grand jirga at Rustam Bazaar in Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan. They demanded the government to help them overcome this major issue in the militancy-hit under-developed tribal region.
The elders noted that cheating in examinations had become a major issue in South Waziristan. They termed it one of the main causes of deteriorating standards of education. They passed a resolution and banned cheating in examinations. The elders decided that those found providing cheating materials to the students in examinations would be considered enemy of the Ahmadzai Wazir tribe, living in Wana subdivision, Shakai, Azam Warsak and Angoor Adda areas of South Waziristan.
