MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has categorically stated that Pakistan People’s Party does not want early elections and hopes that every party would complete its term.
Talking to media men at the inauguration of People’s Secretariat at Gujjar Khada on Tuesday, he said that clash of institutions was not in the interest of masses and the country. Pakistan Army takes a wise step at a suitable time and solved the matter through dialogue.
“If Nawaz Sharif wants to hold talks with Asif Ali Zardari or Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he should first talk to me.
The Pakistan People’s Party did not close the doors of developing consensus through mutual understandings. The Pakistan People’s Party is the only party which firmly implemented the Charter of Democracy in letter and spirit as no other party has done that before,” he added.
Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said the Operation Radul Fasad must continue at any cost to eliminate terrorists’ networks. The country had lost Benazir Bhutto due to terrorism. Pakistan, India and Afghanistan must sit together to settle this problem. The enemies of Pakistan want clash of institutions in the country by inviting anarchy and bloodshed. The country needs more unity and solidarity at this crucial juncture.
The economy cannot be improved until improvement in political affairs. “The Pakistan People’s Party believes in respect of institutions despite the judiciary’s treatment with me and PPP founder chairman Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto,” he added.
The former premier said Pakistan should remain in contact with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda dialogues. “We should not scandalise other institutions rather strengthen them.”
Gilani said that the Pakistan People’s Party was going to celebrate the party’s anniversary on December 5 and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address a public meeting on December 15 in Multan. “I am going to Alipur to mobilise masses for the party’s public meeting.”
