GHALLANAI: Five teams led by Assistant Police Agent Hameedullah Khattak conducted surprise visits to 50 schools and 18 health centres in upper Mohmand Agency as part of a campaign to check attendance and service delivery.
Speaking to the media, Hameedullah Khattak said that he had constituted committees to inspect schools, health centres and other offices to improve service delivery as there had been complaints about staff absence and poor services.
They said more than 180 absent employees of different departments were reported to relevant authorities for action.
He said the political administration teams visited remote areas including Gurbaz, Masood, Sagi Bala, Sagi Payan, Muhammad Gat, Soran Darra, Ghanam Shah, Metai Darra, Shamshah, Babazai, Atam Killay, Kodakhel, Muhammad Kor and Sam Ghakhay.
The official said that 137 teachers were found absent from schools. More than 50 staffer members were found absent at the health centres.
He said the education officer, agency surgeon and assistant director of Livestock were directed to take action against them.
The official said it was a three-tier campaign, including how to ensure staff attendance, assessment of missing facilities in various departments and later the third tier would ensure provision of missing facilities like boundary walls, toilets, furniture at schools and health centres in Mohmand Agency.
He said the political administration recently reconstructed nine checkposts of Levies and Khassadar in Mohmand Agency.
