LAHORE
PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and senior central leader Pervaiz Elahi have said that worst violence is being inflicted on the Faizabad sit-in participants with an aim to save Nawaz Sharif.
They said that the Raja Zafarul Haq Committee report was not being made public so that the names of the responsible for the amendment to the declaration of oath on the finality of the prophet-hood did not come to the fore.
Talking to the media, they said that suspending broadcasts of TV channels and imposing ban on the media was not solution to the problem. The matters will worsen by hiding the facts, he added. The situation could be controlled only by making public the Raja Zafarul Haq Committee report, they added. Responding to questions, Shujaat Hussain said that the prime minister should himself negotiate with the ulema.
The prime minister instead of going to Lahore to seek more instructions from Nawaz Sharif should have gone to Faizabad for talks with the sit-in participants, he said. The rulers should not make it a matter of ego as the riots are spreading throughout the country, he said, adding that solution to every issue could be found through talks.
Shujaat Hussain said how those making speeches against the verdict of Supreme Court and attacking learned judges remind others of the court judgment and advising them to implement it?
He said "If I were the prime minister, the operation would have not started. I would have gone there and talked to them. When Supreme Court was attacked, I had done like this." He said that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was sitting with Nawaz Sharif in Lahore and taking advice from him. Nawaz Sharif is destroying himself but he should not destroy the country, he added. Pervaiz Elahi said this was the issue of every Muslim and everyone was aggrieved. The government should have not have done like this. He said all this had been done at the instance of Nawaz Sharif. He stated that throughout Lahore and other parts of the country, the protests were spreading. It is better if the real culprit is brought to fore, he added.
