MANSEHRA: The Nazimeen Ittehad, an elected body of village and neighbourhood councils, have withdrawn their call of boycotting the November 26 public meeting to be addressed by Imran Khan after a delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf met them and assured to address their grievances.
“After a meeting of the Ittehad, we have decided to welcome Imran Khan,” Basharat Ali Swati, the general secretary of Nazimeen Ittehad, told reporters on Friday.
Basharat said that the local governments in Mansehra district and across the province were deprived of budgetary allocation for the current fiscal year.
He said that Shahid Rafique, who led the PTI delegation in talks with the Nazimeen Ittehad, termed their demands right but requested them to withdraw the call of agitation and boycott of the public meeting.
