Medical imposters

November 24, 2017
Despite the presence of the health regulatory authority (HRA) whose duty is to check the licences of healthcare professionals in the country, a lot of fake doctors are practising openly particularly in open bazaars and on the road sides. These doctors also sell fake medicines and inject infected syringes. These practices spread lethal diseases among the people. Even the ordinary general stores are also selling various types of unauthorised tablets and syrups. This is why in our country the number of deaths is getting high.
It is hard for uneducated people to differentiate between a real doctor and a fake one. Any person who knows a little about medicines is considered a doctor. The second reason for their recourse to quack is the high fees of the doctor’s mafia and high prices of medicines. Mainly the poor visit these clinics since they cannot afford treatment at a hospital. For the poor, treatment at these clinics is affordable. The HRA must come forward to solve the problem of high fee of hospitals. Medicines should be available at discounted rates for the poor. The government’s timely action will help save the lives of tens of thousands of people.
