LAHORE: Former president of Supreme Court BAR Association Asma Jahangir on Wednesday said Nawaz Sharif assuming the office of party head was a victory of the people, adding that all democratic forces must join hands.
Talking to media at the Lahore High Court, she said the government would now be run by army, judiciary or the people and the matter would have to be decided by all jointly.
Asma said demanding the law minister’s resignation was unjustified, as their next demand would be to hang him. She said all democratic forces must have been united but the democratic forces sadly did not play their role.
Asma stressed that the accountability must be carried across-the-board but only person was going through the process. She said the PML-N’s past wasn’t good, adding that Benazir Bhutto had opted to NRO due to compulsions and she wasn’t happy over the deal.
