PRESIDENT PPP central Punjab Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said the nation is united to defeat the evil and will definitely achieve its goal. Talking to a group of students who called on him on Tuesday, Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said there was no difference between the good and bad Taliban because they were neither Muslims nor Pakistanis. Operation Zarb-e-Azab against terrorists was underway and the whole nation was standing behind the army in the fight against extremism and terrorism.
He expressed his grave concern over an upsurge in sectarian violence. He said the sectarian killings were deliberate and being carried out at the behest of the enemies of the country. He said the founder of the nation made it very clear that in Pakistan all citizens would enjoy equal rights regardless of creed, faith, gender and ethnicity.
He stated the government was not doing enough as per mandate given by the political parties in Peshawar because the proscribed organisations were holding rallies in the cities without fear of any legal consequences. Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo went to say that these organisations had established their safe havens in all parts of the country but the government was looking the other way in the face of their illegal activities with impunity and the government looked like lying supine in front of them. Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo said the government should seek international assistance to fence the western boarder to secure it like India had done along Pakistani border to control Skihs insurgents.
