Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal has termed the provincial police force "a child that the provincial government had fostered and pampered but cannot question".
Talking to the media on Tuesday, Siyal said the Sindh government had written again to the federal government about the removal of AD Khowaja as the provincial police chief but a reply was still awaited.
The home minister stated that he had not been deprived of any powers and contended that the Sindh High Court had not shown the complete picture of the matter. The minister said he did not have the authority to transfer police officials and assured the media that the Sindh government was implementing all court orders. He said effective measures were being planned to rid the metropolitan of the street crimes.
