NBP-ICA Inter-Club event kicks off

ISLAMABAD: On the inaugural day of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)-Islamabad Cricket Association (ICA) One-Day Cricket Tournament-2017, three matches were decided with Lucky Star, Shaheen and Junoon Clubs marching into next round by winning their matches at different venues of the capital.
In the first game played here at Al-Muslim Ground, Junoon Club defeated Al-Muslim by 6 wickets with Noman Ahmed scoring 78 runs and then taking three wickets. For the losers Al-Muslim Club, Tariq Awan hit a defiant 128, first century of the tournament.
Scores: Al-Muslim Club 222 in 45 overs (Tariq Awan 128, Usman Khattak 49, Imran 3 for 41, Noman Ahmed 3 for 42). Junoon Club 226 for 4 in 42 overs (Noman Ahmed 78, Shahid Ilyas 61*, Arsalan Saeed 24.Tariq Awan 2 for 26). In the second game at Bhutto Cricket Ground, Lucky Star Club beat Imran Memorial Club by 77 runs.
Scores: Lucky Star Club 307 for 5 in 40 overs (Touseef Sarwar 85, M Nazeer Ranjha 61, Rizwan Rafique 53, Naseerullah 50, Huraira 2 for 15, Syed Hammad 2 for 42). Imran Memorial Club 130 in 35.3 overs (M Faizan 19, Hafeezur Rehman 18, Sajid Mehmood 16, Touseef Sarwar 2 for 27, Haris Sharif 2 for 28, Naseer Ullah 2 for 39). In the third match on the day at Marghzar Ground, Shaheen Club outclassed Evan Club by 5 wickets.
Scores: Evan Club 127 in 32 overs (Nadeem Masih 25, Tariq Arif 23, Shafaqat 21, Imtiaz Alam 20, Asad Mehmood 3 for 17, Yasir Mahmood 2 for 21, Babar Mehmood 2 for 44). Shaheen Club 128 for 5 in 24.3 overs (Bilal Ahmed Senior71 not out, Bial Ahmed Jr 13 – Tariq Arif 2 for 18, Kamil Gill 2 for 28).
