Dir DDAC chief says education sector getting attention

TIMERGARA: Chairman District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC), Lower Dir, Member Provincial Assembly Saeed Gul on Sunday said the provincial government was spending billions of rupees on education.
He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at a function at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Maidan Bagh. “Most of the state-run schools in Maidan were destroyed or damaged due to militancy in 2009. However, the provincial government showed its commitment and rehabilitated all these schools,” Saeed Gul said.
Speaking on the occasion, District Education Officer (DEO), Lower Dir, Dr Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim said that standard of education had registered improvement in the last one year as he said no school all over the district had any shortage of staff or furniture.
“Dir Lower stands fifth among all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for better education,” Hafiz Muhammad Ibrahim said, adding concrete measures had been taken to ensure teachers attendance at schools. Tehsil Nazim Bakhtiar Khan, educationists Salahuddin, Muhammad Rahman, SDEO Rahman Malik, member district council Abdullah Shah, principal Muhammad Wahab and others also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, speaking at ‘Azeem Islami Inqilab’ conference at Munda stadium here, provincial chief of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) Maulana Gul Nasib Khan said the Muslims had imposed someone’s else war on themselves just to appease Russia and the US.
