PCS officers criticise minister’s interference in official work

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Civil Service (PCS) Officers Association has criticised Minister for Excise Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel for interfering in the official work and using inappropriate words against the Additional Assistant Commissioner during the anti-encroachment drive in Nowshera district.
In a press release issued on Saturday, the PCS Officers Association said the minister’s dealing with the PMS officer Mohsin Habib, who is additional assistant commissioner (AAC), Nowshera, was not appropriate.
It said all the codal formalities were fulfilled and notices duly served to the concerned for the anti-encroachment drive at Nowshera Kalan.
“The AAC along with relevant Town Municipal Administration (TMA) and police staff was carrying out the anti-encroachment drive when the minister arrived and asked him to stop the work,” it added..
The minister, the press release said, was adamant and used abusive language and tried to bully the young AAC in order to get the work stopped.
It argued that in such state of affairs when the civil servants are pressured by politicians and other quarters while doing their official duty, it will be difficult to render better services to the people.
The association appealed to the chief minister and chief secretary to take strict disciplinary action against the minister in order to pre-empt such incidents in future.
Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel is affiliated to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and belongs to Nowshera.
