LAHORE: PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz on Saturday said they had reservations about some court verdicts, adding that reopening the Hudaibiya Papers Mills case was irrelevant because the Sharif family had a clean character and justice should be delivered through the court proceedings.

Talking to the media during his visit to NA-119, Hamza said the PML-N leaders had been facing the corruption allegations since the Musharraf’s era and it was nothing new for them. He said with the legal modalities and differences sorted out, the path to elections 2018 had been cleared and “the people will now make the decision”.

Hamza offered fateha for a deceased local PML-N leader during his visit to the constituency. He reassured the party supporters of absolute unity in the party and termed the rumours regarding any rift in the Sharif family as an instrument to discourage the PML-N voters and workers. He denied the buzz that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had left the country for good and was going to resign from his post, saying the finance minister was a patriot and would return to the country. He discussed the problems faced by the people in his constituency and took those issues up with the local party leadership, assuring them that they would be resolved as quickly as possible.

The PML-N leader expressed pride over the party’s success in resolving the biggest issues of the country vis-à-vis terrorism and electricity crisis and said the party agenda of public service and progress of the country would not be deterred by the obstructionist policies of its opponents.
