Parents Day held at Kohat Garrison Cadet College

KOHAT: Appreciating the performance of the Garrison Cadet College, Kohat, Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Thursday urged the students to come up to the expectations.
“A goal-oriented education is the only barometer to gauge the altitude of any nation’s progress and I’m delighted to know that a galaxy of cadets from all the provinces of Pakistan as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Fata are collectively busy in educational pursuits in this institution,” said the governor.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 22nd Parents Day ceremony of the institution at its premises. “The institution is serving the cause of national integration, cohesion and unity which is a call of the time under the prevalent environment,” he added.
Maj-Gen. Nauman Zakria, Chairman, Board of Governors of the college, Kohat Division Commissioner Mutahir Zeb and principal of the college Brig Nadeem Akhtar and the parents of the cadets and elders of the area were also present on the occasion.
Beyond doubt, the governor said the education was a foundation for nation building and achieving a prosperous future for a country. “It is educated and well-motivated youth who always play a pivotal role towards the achievement of national goals and objectives,” he added.
He congratulated the principal and the college staff for their devotion, commitment and hard work towards the rapid development of the Garrison Cadet College Kohat. The governor also announced a grant of Rs1 million for the college.
