Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to visit in second quarter of this year. He too had to call off the visit to Pakistan in September last due to the same reason. It is expected that Chinese authorities would convey the suitable dates for the visit of their president next week through diplomatic channels and April could be the month for undertaking visit by the Chinese president who will also be here on maiden visit.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Pakistan last week. Well-placed diplomatic sources told The News here Monday that the government hadn’t made up its mind to invite any foreign dignitary to be a guest of honour on the Pakistan Day parade next month that is being staged after the pause of seven years.
It couldn’t take place due to the security situation. The parade will take place in Islamabad and some most sophisticated arsenal would be displayed on this occasion that Pakistan had developed indigenously, the sources added.
