The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) kicked off a campaign on Thursday to urge people to participate in the shutter-down strike scheduled for Friday and participate in the long march on Sunday to protest against the government’s inaction in arresting those involved in carrying out the Shikarpur Imambargah attack last month.
The Warisan-e-Shuhada-e-Shikarpur, committee of heirs of martyrs, had announced a peaceful protest across Sindh on Friday.
They also announced to organise a long march on Sunday towards the CM House.
The call for the strike was endorsed by the MWM and the Imamia Students Organisation.
In this connection, the MWM activists and supporters will go door to door and persuade the people to participate in the shutter-down strike on Friday and the long march on Sunday.
At least 63 people were killed and many others were injured while offering Friday prayers in a deadly suicide attack in Karballah Moalla of Lakhi Dar town in Shikarpur.
