Yaum-e-Shuhada marked

BARA: The political administration of Khyber Agency observed Martyrs Day (Yaum-e-Shuhada) in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Tuesday.

Political Agent Khalid Mehmood, Col Rahim of Swat Scouts, Assistant Political Agent of Bara Arshad Khan Afridi, Landikotal Assistant Political Agent Niaz Ahmad, Assistant Political Agent Jamrud Muhammad Riaz and tribal elders attended the event.

The political agent laid the floral wreath on the memorial of martyrs.

Khalid Mehmood distributed at least 96 awards among the heirs of the martyrs belonging to Bara, Jamrud and Landikotal tehsils.

Speaking at the event, he said the Khassadar and Levies personnel had rendered sacrifices for the sake of the country and they would be remembered forever.

He said the security forces and tribesmen had also rendered sacrifices for the sake of peace, tranquility and solidarity of the country.

The official said successful military operation was launched against the militant groups in Khyber Agency including upper and lower Tirah valley.
