Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq has said all out efforts are being made to make the railway journey safe, swift and comfortable and for this purpose facilities are being provided at platforms.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting at the Pakistan Railways Headquarters regarding the upgrade of the platforms with the cooperation of the Nespak. The minister advised the officials to make satisfactory arrangements for providing clean drinking water, benches and chairs, lavatories, wheelchairs and proper lights for the passengers at platforms. It was decided that in the first phase, the upgrade work will be started on five railway stations including Sahiwal, Nankana Sahib, Narowal, Okara and Hassanabdal.
