LAHORE: Hot weather with high humidity continued to prevail in the city here Sunday while Met office predicted that there are chances of scattered rain in the city in the next 24 hours.
Met officials said weak seasonal low lies over Balochistan while monsoon currents from Bay of Bengal are penetrating northeastern parts of the country. They said a westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country in next few days.
Met officials predicted that mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country while rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, lower Sindh, Fata, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall was recorded in several cities, including Kakul, Malam Jabba, Risalpur, Saidu Sharif, Cherat, Pattan, Balakot, Dir, Lower Dir, Drosh, Jhelum, Murree, Mangla, Mandi Bahauddin, Kamra, Islamabad, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Kotli, Muzaffarabad and Garhi Dupatta.
Sunday’s maximum temperature was recorded in Bhakkar where mercury reached 44°C while in Lahore, it was 33°C, minimum was 26.5°C and humidity level in the morning was 58 percent.
