‘Karachi Jaraim Ke Nishanay Par’ to be aired on ‘Geo News’ all day
KARACHI: For the past few years, an operation against terrorists, extortionists, target killers, land mafia, kidnappers and street criminals is underway in the largest city of Pakistan, Karachi.
In the first of phase of the operation that was kick-started in 2013, the Lyari gang war suspects were eliminated. After this step, the operation was accelerated in the entire city.
Few years later, the operation was further amplified by catching the black sheep from various political parties. Many incidents in Karachi had sent across a wave of fear in the city: raids on offices of political parties, exposé of gang war activities, death of Baba Ladla, and conversation of Zulfiqar Mirza regarding arms in the city.
The city of lights had come under the shadow of despondency. There was bloodshed in the city. Many significant political personalities were killed. Even after many decades, the police had still not become an effective alternative force.
Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair had recently said that the Karachi operation will continue till its logical conclusion.
If we analyse carefully, the killings and crimes in Karachi have substantially dropped after the operation. However, it is important to note that many other types of crimes have increased in Karachi. The wave of these crimes is gaining momentum.
Like its past endeavours, “Geo News” has planned a special transmission called “Karachi Jaraim Ke Nishanay Par” to talk about Karachi’s peace and stability. In this transmission, the performance of government, police and Rangers will be reviewed. A special news report will also be presented, including the viewpoints of citizens, government officials, traders, analysts and reporters.
The people and higher authorities will be shown current state of affairs in the city. They will also be shown that which areas have become the centres of street crime. A current report on kidnapping for ransom and bank robberies will also be presented. This transmission will be on air whole day on Sunday (today).
