GUJRANWALA: Bandits and thieves deprived locals of cash and valuables in 14 strikes on Wednesday.
Two bandits intercepted motorcyclist Adnan on Jinnah Road and tried to snatch his motorbike. When he resisted, they inflicted knife injuries upon him and took away his motorbike.
Two bandits snatched Rs 17,000 and a cellphone from Arshid in village Dela Chatha in the area of Alipur Chatha police station.
Two bandits snatched Rs 7,000 and a cellphone from Yasir in village Ratta Gorya in the area of Tatle-e-Aali police station.
Three bandits snatched new motorbike from Allah Rakha in village Tung Kalan in the area of Noshar Virkan police station. Three bandits snatched motorcycle No GTL-189 from Nawaz on bank of the Chenab River in Wazirabad sadar police area.
Thieves entered house of Ikhlaq in village Kot Ishaque and decamped with valuables in Ladhewala police area. Thieves took away valuables from grocery shops of Ashfaq in Ferozewala and M Ashiq in village Radiala Warraich in the cantonment police area.
Thieves took away costly cellphones from a mobilephone shop located on Hafizabad Road in the Baghbanprua police area.
Thieves lifted new motorbike of Hamza from Noshera Road in the area of Baghbnapura police station, new motorcycle of Waqas from Talvandi Musa Khan in the area of Gujranwala sadar police, motorcycle No GAX-392 of Ans from Al Habib Bank in the area of Wazirabad police, motorcycle No STG-7979 of Usman from Jinnah Road in the area of Jinnah Road police station and motorcycle No GA-1563 of Mudassar from Gulshan-e-Iqbal park in the area of Dhulley police station.
RALLIES CONDEMN PROFANE SKETCHES: Students and women of Sunni Tehreek held two protest rallies against publication of profane sketches and raised slogans against publishers and the French government.
The students started their rally from Sheikhupura Mor and marched towards Sheranwala Bagh.
Women of Sunni Tehreek held a rally at Amenabad Gate and condemned profane sketches.
