Thalassemia-hit children celebrate Independence Day
PESHAWAR: Children suffering from thalassemia performed in various segments in a function arranged to mark the Independence Day in befitting manners.
Frontier Foundation Welfare Hospital and Blood Transfusion Services Chairman Sahibzada Muhammad Haleem hoisted the national flag and cut a cake in the presence of the kids to mark the occasion.
Administrator Dr Fakhar Zaman, Director Public Relations Farooq Mohmand and Director Project Laiba Fayyaz were also present. The children sang the national anthem after the flag hoisting ceremony. With faces painted with the national flag, they performed on the national songs.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahibzada Haleem and Dr Fakhar Zaman said we were lucky that we were living in a free environment. They said Pakistan was achieved after rendering great sacrifices and it was our duty to protect the motherland. The speakers were appreciative of the performance by the children hit by thalassemia.
