Senator Sitara Ayaz submits assets details to KPEC
PESHAWAR: Awami National Party Senator Sitara Ayaz has submitted the details of her assets to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC).
A press release said the senator submitted the documents through her lawyer, Senator Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif.
The counsel for the ANP senator told the media they were extending full cooperation to the KPEC. “We will appear in the KPEC whenever called,” he added.
Responding to a question, he said the documents sought had been submitted to the KPEC in time.
The counsel said they believed in the rule of law but could not tolerate humiliation.
He said his client reserved the legal and political right to raise voice against this at every forum.
The lawyer said it was deplorable that his client was being harassed on the pretext of an inquiry.
He said it was an open violation of the solid principles of impartiality and transparency.
Senator Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif said his client could not be browbeaten by cheap tactics, adding all the conspiracies of the political opponents would fail.
The press release said that Senator Sitara Ayaz believed efforts were being made to defame her politically.
