PESHAWAR: The legal fraternity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday observed complete boycott of courts across the province in protest against the Quetta carnage in which 72 people including 52 lawyers were killed last year.
Like other parts of the province, the lawyer community in the provincial capital also observed complete boycott of courts.
The countrywide protest call was given by the Pakistan Bar Council to condemn the attack.
The litigants suffered as the courts wore a deserted look.
The Peshawar High Court and the district courts in the provincial capital couldn’t hear the cases.
A condolence meeting was also held at the Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA). The lawyers urged the government to provide foolproof security to lawyers as the militants had time and again targeted the lawyers.
They also condemned the Quetta carnage in which 52 lawyers were martyred.
The lawyers also offered fateha for the departed souls.
