Pashto singer launches new version of national song
PESHAWAR: A Pashto singer Nazia Iqbal on Tuesday paid rich tributes to legendary Ustad Amanat Ali Khan while launching a new version of famous national song “Aye Watan Payare Watan,” for the 70th Independence Day.
Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club, she said singing a national song was a great experience and thus had added a new face to her singing career.
She appreciated Ustad Amanat Ali Khan and felt elated at having an opportunity to pay rich tributes to a legendary singer of the sub-continent. She announced to launch the new version of the song on the 14th of August.
While sharing the details with the media, she disclosed that it was the long-cherished desire of her husband to sing national songs and anthems to pay homage to legendary singers of the motherland.
