KARACHI: The 20-day goalkeepers training camp established by Karachi Hockey Association (KHA) has ended.
KHA said on Tuesday as many as 27 keepers attended the camp which was held at KHA Sports Complex. There were seven girls among the goalkeepers.
They received basic goalkeeping training from Olympian Ahmad Alam, who was assisted by Arshad Siddiqi, and Imtiazul Hassan. The trainees, who were 15 to 22 years of age, were presented goalkeepers’ kits.
The participants had training in the morning and evening and classes apart from practical training under former Pakistan captain Ahmad. The KHA organised this camp on the directives of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).
On this occasion, Olympian Samiullah while talking to the media praised KHA for its efforts for producing quality goalkeepers. He hoped that through this KHA training camp, Pakistan would be able to overcome goalkeepers’ shortage.
